The Break of Dawn – TESL

A new hand touches the Beacon

Quest Accepted!  I found Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for the Xbox in a bargain bin at a Circuit City.  Much like Meridia’s Beacon in Skyrim, I paused briefly before saying, “Sure, I’ll pick that up,” and moving on.  Oh but friends, little did I know the journey I had just begun.  As far as I am concerned, The Elder Scrolls series is one of the finest pedigrees in gaming and there is no other game series that I have put as much time into.  Despite my rampant fanaticism, when Bethesda announced the next game for Elder Scrolls was going to be a card game, my heart sank.

I didn’t know if Legends was going to be good.  At the time, I didn’t care.  I was full up on card games.  Magic the Gathering took up most of my time and money.  If my need for card games wasn’t being fulfilled by the parade of MTGO Dailies, PTQs, GPs, Opens and FNMs, I already had a new and mostly adequate backup in the freemium space.  I wasn’t excitedly waiting for Legends to release.  I wasn’t even aware.  My beacon for Elder Scrolls was just sitting there in my inventory, taking up space.  It wasn’t until their first expansion came out that I said, “Oh right!  That’s a thing!  Oh it’s on Steam.  Okay sure, let’s pick that up.”

My story doesn’t matter, not really.  I am part of the Legends community and our story is what matters.  Maybe you’ve been a part of it since the beginning or maybe you don’t play just yet.  If you are here, you made it, Welcome Friend!  We are here for you as a guide.  Not sure about the game, ask.  Not sure about cards, ask.  Not sure why you aren’t having fun with the game, ask.

It’s a great time to be a part of this game.  New tournaments are just starting, our new Community Manager is starting soon, and a new expansion should arrive soon…ish was just announced and will be here on March 29th!!  A new day dawns for an already fantastic game so I invite all of you to accept the quest and take up the Beacon.
