Grand Prix Format

The format for Grand Prix starts on October 18th. Only cards from Basic and Day of Nightmares can be used in deck construction. This means that the cards that are in everyone’s collection, the “Basic set” assocaited with each Hero, can be used. Then cards from Day of Nightmares can be used as well – the only exclusion is from the CORE expansion.

Grand Prix consists of 3 rounds. Entrants must complete 5 games for each round period in the allotted times.

Visual for explaining rounds.

Round 1 and 2

All 3 rounds are separate in time frame, where the first round begins on October 18th and ends October 23rd. See above for the full schedule. The first entry is free every round. Grand Prix Tickets or Zenny may be used to retry a Grand Prix session again for the respective round. In Round 1 and 2, only 2 retries are allowed. 5 games must be completed in each round and end of round will deal out rewards.

There are two groups after Round 1, Group A and Group B. Group A has better rewards. To advance to Group A in Rounds 1 and 2, the player must win 4 out of 5 games at least. Should the player fall short of 4 wins in the round, the player will be moved to Group B. This is where the retries come in, but retries are only available in Rounds 1 and 2, and not available in the Final Round.

Group B rewards are not too much different from Group A but does mean you can’t get the undefeated Group A Final Round rewards which is the pinnacle of the game mode. In Round 2 Group B, you only need 3 wins to advance to Group B Final Round.

If for some reason you missed out on Round 1, you can still enter Round 2 but will be automatically placed in Group B.

All games are random matchmaking.

Final Round

Any loss in the final round will immediately end the session and deal out rewards. No retries are allowed. Group A Final Round is the pinnacle of the event, ideally you want to go undefeated but this feat alone can be very difficult. Do not feel bad if you don’t go undefeated in the final round.

Grand Prix Rewards

Round 1 and 2 guarantees 1 Day of Nightmare pack ticket. Zenny and Souls can be added as scaled rewards for as many wins as you get. Group A and B players in the Final Round guarantee 1 pack ticket from the next expansion set. Undefeated players in Final Round Group A receive a Day of Nightmare Grand Prix Emblem (banner), 3 pack tickets for the next set, and 5 pack tickets for “CORE GOLDEN” which includes foil cards from the CORE expansion.
